The US Navy decided its first venture into a unique branch 'camo' was a bit of a mistake pretty quickly with 'blueberry.' Within just a few years the Navy would start using AOR2 camouflage on the new Type III cut uniform as early as 2010. Initially issued to ground based Navy units first, it was only in 2019 NWU I (blueberry) was to be eliminated and replaced fully with NWU III AOR2 to all naval units. This includes issuing to well known special units such as SEAL teams/DEVGRU, Seabees and EOD units.

Like all US surplus, these shirts are well built - even better than their Marine counterparts. Small quality of life additions such as pockets with closure options with both buttons and hook & loop patches make access much better. Shoulder pockets have hook & loop patches on the flap openings for adding ID patches. The uniform is made from hard wearing rip-stop material and has reinforcement in the elbows. Complete in AOR2 camouflage both SEAL team members or naval base crew alike can make good use of this camouflage in woodland environments.
