Uganda adopted their flag in 1962 when they gained independence from the British Empire. The flag consists of six equal horizontal strips of black, yellow and red. In the centre of the flag is a white disc that has the national symbol, a grey crowned crane. 

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
