Made from stainless steel they have a full length tang for maximum strength. The handle area is wrapped with olive drab cord that runs through a hole creating a small lanyard. If need be in a survival situation this can be quite handy - broken shoelace? Pop that cord in there. Need to make a hunting snare for a trap? - Done dinner!
