Colombia's flag was adopted in 1861. The largest strip of yellow represents the wealth of the Colombian soil, the riches of the country, justice and agriculture, harmony and the sun. The blue simply represents Colombia's shores, rivers and the sky above. And the red represents the blood spilled for Colombia's independence from Spain.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
