Description
The overall design of the Mexican flag goes back to 1821 when they came up with their first national flag. The current one has a change in the coat of arms which was adopted in 1968, otherwise the general look has stayed original. The red, white and green are the colours of the Mexican army. The coat of arms in the centre are that of Mexico City, or in ancient terms, Tenochtitlan (the ancient centre of the Aztec empire).
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
