This French military angle head torch is a steeple of quality and versatile design. For infantry use, these torches came in handy as an attachable light source. I appreciate that genuine surplus is not straight from the factory. Even if never used, it’s been around and moved around for a while. So I was very impressed to get this touch in its original issued box, and it was in perfect condition. It’s a universally great design, so handy around the house … or in a trench. And it’s French, so très cool.

been meaning to buy one of these for a while to add to my kit and I'm very happy with it.
nice and simple design.
the bulb gives that lovely warmth that really shows it age and exactly what i was looking for.
red filter it good for sneaking around at night (getting up for a pee) and the white filter good for maybe in a tent or for gentle room illumination, still have no real clue what the blue filter is for but i use it for signaling.
it's watertight seals and sturdy body make it perfect for my webbing in any weather, without me worrying about it too much.
great addition to a collection or military enthusiast.
If you're looking for a torch that is of modern brightness go buy one of the LED torches on here.
But if you're after a torch that gives you the feel of the past it's perfect.

I purchased 2 of these to add to my small collection of old school military angle head flashlights. I have 3 Vietnam War era m-x991/u lights, and when compared to them these French ones throw a better and seemingly brighter light, sort of a wider hotspot in the middle with better distance, most likely down to the reflectors. I was already very happy with them, but then I bought a drop in led 220 lumen replacement bulb for it (after a long search and a lot of trial and error), and now it’s my go to flashlight. It’s so much brighter now! I use the red filter a lot at night when I’m creeping around the house. It’s great! Saves my eyes having to adjust to the dark again and saves me from a divorce because I’ve had to get up to pee for the seventh time at night and woken up my long suffering wife. I’m definitely going to buy another one (or two).

This french issue anglehead flashlight is a great little military collectable.
My one shows minor aging in the plastic and slight rust on the belt clip. Still very happy with my purchase. Especially at this price.
